Excelsior, MN – Connie Frederick, owner of Ooh La La Boutique and Ta·Vor, is celebrating 25 years in business in Excelsior and the first anniversary of Ta·Vor. To celebrate, both stores will have an Anniversary Sale April 29, 30 and May 1.
Ooh La La Boutique has steadily grown over the years launching an ecommerce site in 2015 and becoming an exhibitor in the Grandstand at the Minnesota State Fair in 2017. In 2020 Ooh La La expanded into the space next door to the original store, doubling the store’s space. In 2021, Frederick opened a second location at the West End in St. Louis Park. Ooh La La is now the #1 seller of Sorel footwear in Minnesota and carries other major brands such as Free People, Kut Denim, Charlie B, Haute Shore, 7 for Mankind and Anorak.
Ta·Vor, an edgy and on-trend women’s store opened in 2021 next to Ooh La La on Water Street and will be remodeled in May. “We’re changing the look to be more on-brand,” Alexa Nozling, Store Manager/Marketing, explained. “It’s going to look very classy when we’re done.”
Frederick is humbled. “I’m overwhelmed by the support and encouragement of our customers, staff and community and sincerely grateful that I’ve been able to do what I love for 25 years.”
As the stores continue to grow and as ecommerce sales rise, Frederick’s daughter, Tana DeNarvaez, has joined the team in a management role. “I’m so proud of my mom and the momentum she’s built and I’m looking forward to being more involved,” DeNarvaez noted. With the added help, the stores will be able to participate in more external events and shows and will be able to add one to two more locations.
The Anniversary sales at both stores include 20% off storewide, canvas tote bags with purchase and another gift with purchase of $100 or more.

Ooh La La Boutique is continually voted one of the Best Boutiques and Best Gift Shops by Lake Minnetonka Magazine and was most recently named Best Boutique by Sun Media Reader’s Choice Awards. Both Ta·Vor and Ooh La La are located on Water Street in downtown Excelsior and feature a range of apparel, jewelry, local goods and gifts. Connie Frederick has been in business in Excelsior for over 25 years and started a give-back program to benefit local nonprofits. She was named Excelsior’s Person of the Year in 2018.
